In late July 2014, Andrew Hilts participated at the 2014 Citizen Lab Summer Institute. Held at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs, the event brought together participants from various academic fields and communities of practice. Computer scientists, app developers, privacy experts, political scientists, human rights experts, and others attended the event to discuss internet openness and freedom.
Hilts was part of aย group focused on corporate transparency. Participants discussed what they were working on, and as a group discussed problems and how to overcome them, areas of potential collaboration, and how to align efforts for maximum impact.
